Getting paid

What is the easiest way of getting paid?

Encourage your customer to sign up to GoCardless if they are regular customers. When you invoice it’s just one button and the money will be credited to your account. Customers love it!

What does it cost to use GoCardless & Stripe?

For Direct Debit / ACH / SEPA payments:

UK – GoCardless charge 1% up to a maximum of £2.

US/Canada – GoCardless charge 1% up to a maximum of $3.

Europe - GoCardless charge 1% up to a maximum of €2

Australia - To be announced

For Credit and Debit cards we use Stripe:

UK - 1.4% +0.20p no monthly charges

US/Canada - 2.9% +0.20c still to be confirmed

Europe - 1.4% + 0.20c no monthly charges

These rates may vary please check with GoCardless/Stripe for current charges.

Can I take credit or debit cards via the app?

If you have completed the Stripe setup you can. Customers will also be able to pay straight from their invoice.

What are the payment methods?

You can take payment in any way you choose. This is then recorded, making it easy for your bookkeeper.

Can a customer pay from their invoice?

Yes if you have set up Stripe. They will see a button on their invoice to pay you using a credit or debit card.
